The Faculty of Arts at the Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra along with its Institute for Research of Constantine and Methodius’ Cultural Heritage organised the international scientific conference “Premeny severnej časti stredodunajského priestoru a jeho okolia na prelome antiky a stredoveku” / “Changes of the northern part of the Middle Danube region and its vicinity at the turn of Antiquity and the Middle Ages” on April 25-26, 2017.  The conference was held in the Constantine the Philosopher Hall. The event was divided into four sections and except for Slovak scholars of archaeology, history, Slavonic studies, philosophy and theology their colleagues from Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania, and Russia attended this conference. The scholars presented up-to-date information and introduced the newest trends in research of the discussed fields of science.

The conference was opened by the dean of the Faculty of Arts at the Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra, prof. PaedDr. Bernard Garaj, CSc. This event was held within the framework of the the VEGA (Scientific Grant Agency of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic and the Slovak Academy of Sciences) under Grant number 1/0468/15 (The northern part of the Carpathian Basin at the turn of Antiquity and the Middle Ages as a place of changes initiated from outside and inside).
